just read about the Michael Fay incident in 1994 and i have got to say that it might just have to be one of the most retarded cases ever in the history of justice, in terms of the amount of media coverage it received in the US.

and im especially proud of singapore's justice system for not buckling under pressure even when US tried to be a piece of shit about it. :)

"U.S. President Bill Clinton called the punishment extreme and mistaken, continuing to pressure the Singaporean government to grant Fay clemency from caning. Two dozen U.S. senators signed a letter to the Singaporean government also appealing for clemency. After Fay's punishment was carried out, the United States Trade Representative said that he would try to prevent the World Trade Organization's first ministerial meeting from taking place in Singapore. The Singaporean government pointed out that Singaporeans who break the law faced the same punishments as Fay, and suggested that the United States should pay more attention to its domestic problems, such as American law and order, rather than telling other countries what to do."
so true. ^^

Fay totally got what he deserved. and while i think Singapore's justice system places extreme emphasis on certain crimes, there's a reason why Singapore is considered one of the world's most safest places ok. dont wanna be caned, DONT VANDALISE IN OTHER PEOPLE'S COUNTRIES. its not rocket science.

and BILL CLINTON had to appeal for clemency on his behalf? get real! his butt isnt even worth a quarter of what Jennifer Lopez's butt is worth. and what is the message people are getting here? that American citizens above other countries' rules and regulations? i think not!

PS: Fay, you miserable toot. blaming your sniffing solvents on what happened in singapore? nothing better to do is it! bohliao chap. makes me sick.
