i stumbled upon the lady with the maori tattoo first and was somehow able to appreciate that she's really gorgeous even though the tattoo was a tad unnerving at first.
which sort of spurred me to look for pics of ladies from other cultures in the world.

while i have no qualms about different cultures' idea of beauty,
i do wonder why every culture in history has had to adopt an idea that subjects women to so much pain.
really, whats wrong with au naturel?
or is it some sort of innate gene in the human psyche that is just unable to accept that everyone is the same, and will grow hair, wrinkles and pimples all over the place if no grooming/embellishment is performed?
see, even i grossed myself out there.
maybe its the fact that from the start separate communities have had to distinguish themselves from each other, coupled with a generous sprinkling of herd mentality.
by the way, tribal tattoos look ultra cool ^^ the ancients did have some really good ideas.
