racial harmony - the fundamental block.

wooha! today was racial harmony day! and half day! but it wasnt really a half-day cos we ended up waiting 2hours for hilo's class to dismiss from lunch and everyone got super cranky and tired. so it was a wasted 2hours.

one thing different though was that this year i made sure to take lots and lots of pics! mrs lim was so sweet, she let us have her whole period to snap pics with each other. was wearing kirthana's punjabi outfit again! (though i think its probably more of like kirthana's mothers. XP no offense. but the design was really really intricate!)

the knowledge that in less than half a year, we will all be going on with the next course of our lives. how does that sound? not so good. :(
on the other hand, it does make a good incentive for bringing cameras. thank goodness i've finally got a camera-phone, otherwise i'd be missing out on yet another Cedarian memory. must learn to upload pics from phone. yeshyesh.

and WE'VE FINALLY SUCCEEDED IN TAKING THE ANNUAL SQUAD PHOTO!! hahax, ever since we failed in the attempt on be yourself day, i was fearing we wouldnt be able to take it this year, fearing it's all cos we didnt have the "fate"!! now its finally taken (and it looks so much more gorgeous than last years) i dunno why, but it feels like relief!

im so glad singapore has such a policy like racial harmony to celebrate the ethnic diversity of singapore. other countries may boast of having multi racial societies as well, but i say they're copycats. or to put it more politely, later versions of singapore's authentic multiculturism. anyway, nowadays multi-racialism is practically a given in most developed countries, on account of the supersonic speed of globalisation. NOONE DOES IT LIKE WE DO!! all the exchange students (some ang mohs, some prcs) were looking quite astonished at all the cheongsam, sari and punjabi suit clad girls running about like headless chickens and flapping cam-phones at one another. and this year there seems to be a higher frequency of sia girls!!

interlude: singapore girl, you're a great way to fly~

as mrs lim would say, its a great way to show off the convex-concave-convexes. ^^ but its true, which singaporean doesnt take pride in the Singaporean Girl?? (as in, SIA girl, not SPG girl.) and tracy looked super nice. heck, i think the whole class looked super nice!!!! mr ang too! he was wearing that kind of indian drape thing that if he grew a paunch and a moustache, he could probably look like one of those ma-ma shopkeeper uncles. ^^ soo heartlandish.

anyway, my slacking is about to come to an end soon, almost recovered from that irritable stupor waiting for huilin with nothing to do had caused. ^^

righty-ho. actually the school organised some sort of pasar malam thing, but really it was more of a junk sale. so profits were virtually nada, anyway all proceeds went to the school building fund, so (shrugs).

thats all bbubye.

i am joycie, hear me RAAAWWWRRRR.
