its been long since ive blogged. :)

issf - international students science fair.

that's got to be the world's worst acronym. its a tongue twister of death in four letters.

well, nj hosted this event :D and its coming to a closure. its been fun interacting with all sorts of people from different nationalities; their unique physical characteristics, accents, mannerisms and reactions to different situations really bring some colour to the mundane. i was Student Liaison Officer to Camborne Science and Community College, from Cornwall UK! Being SLO isnt really a tedious job, but in some ways its really exhausting. mentally exhausting, i guess.

because 24/7 germaine and i worried ourselves to nuts about EVERYTHING related to their welfare. like, did they eat, sleep, drink, feel, rest well? were they still jetlagged? are they used to the climate? and when they were not to be found, we went ballistic. i was ready to blow an entire gasket over the VCH night thing when they were late, but luckily amanda found an extra ticket. and it was great FUN. kudos to the all the musical clubs, it was AMAZING.

of course, there were alot of cool things i learnt - one of them being that UK people were very into their pasties (pronounced past-ee). its the western equivalent of a curry puff, expt bigger. when matt was describing the pasty he had as a "beauty", i just laughed out loud, cos i cant imagine a singaporean picking up an old chang kee curry puff and describing it as "chio", you know what i mean? hahax. and all of us have sort of picked up an accent as well. lol ^^


oh, i know its supposed to be an international affair, but i made some singaporean friends as well :) shiqi, jasmine, linh, minh and carmen! and viona kept making cameo appearances here and there, freaking me out. hahax
